However, as a manager, it is your duty to delegate work out to employees considering you have enough on your plate as it is. As your responsibilities grow in this new role, being able to delegate out assignments can make a huge difference in effective leadership. In order for the business to run smoothly, delegation is important and it will also help to increase everyone’s development on the team.

Delegating tasks helps to allow work to become more efficient. By being the team leader, you can notify employees strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, you can assign tasks to them based on their strengths. This will allow business to run more smoothly and tasks to be completed efficiently.

Increases Development
Since you are the leader, you have acquired skills and techniques that you can teach to those on your team. Many leaders coach their team into new skills and then assign them tasks that allow them to use this new skill set. By teaching your team and delegating tasks, it will encourage your team to become the best employee possible.

Empowers Employees
When an employee gets a task from a manager, they will feel trusted and valued. This will help them have a personal interest on the task at hand and the drive to complete it to their best ability.

Encourages Leadership
After an employee completes a new task, it will help them to feel more confident in their abilities. When being a leader, it is essential for your team to complete tasks on their own to help them feel accomplished.

Learning to delegate can be hard at first but with the right team, it can be a smooth process. Be sure to let your employees know that you trust them and their work. Encourage them and be sure to complement hard efforts and let them know to feel comfortable asking questions.
